First and foremost, THIS IS A PATTERN!! Not a final piece. Just need to put that out there right at the beginning.
This pattern is definitely more advanced, but it exclusively uses single crochet and no complicated stitches, so it could work for a very ambitious beginner. This pattern will show you how to make the heart-shaped box, chocolate, and all the other details that will bring your chocolate heart box to life! Before diving in, check out the materials you'll need to bring this project to life.
As another disclaimer, this is a pattern and not a final product. Once purchased you will receive an email PDF of the pattern (this will be separate from the confirmation email), so make sure you provide me with your correct email so you can receive the pattern.
When you download the pattern I have also provided you with 2 variations, one to be viewed online and one that can be printed. You will also receive a heart shape print out to trace for the shape of the bag.
The pattern contains:
- US crochet terms.
- Intermediate/beginner project. A pretty ambitious beginner project.
- Easy-to-follow instructions, with lots of photos for many of the steps. 6 incredible pattern testers tested these patterns to make sure every step of the way is easy to follow!
- Pattern for the heart box, chocolate wrappers, l3 chocolate shapes, and chocolate covered strawberries.
- Lots of sewing instructions to make the process easy!
- Has a button pocket on the back.
What you will need:
- Yarn: worsted/aran medium (weight 4) yarn, the fiber of your choosing. You will need anywhere from 3 to 5 colours. I used Loops and Threads Impeccable yarn for these photos, but I have completed the project using wool and cotton before. For the red base get 2 balls of yarn.
- 3.5mm crochet hook. I have a tight gage and many of the pattern testers found that a 4.5mm hook worked better to achieve the desired size.
- Yarn needle. Preferably a metal one.
- Polyfil stuffing (or excess yarn strands).
- Either 2 sheets of 12" x 18" Thick Foam Sheet by Creatology™, or a roll of 0.6 or 0.8 cm EVA Foam Roll
- Hot glue gun.
- A ruler.
- Scissors.
- 2 D-rings.
- Chain Strap. I used a 15 inch chain strap.
- Button.
- Beads (optional for chocolates).
- A printer (for the heart shape).
If you buy this pattern you have the freedom to recreate it for yourself or as gifts. I'm also open to people selling the final products made from the pattern. I can't wait to see what you make!
