Hello there!

Crafting the sandwich bag has been one of my most cherished projects thus far, and I'm thrilled to guide you through creating your very own. In this pattern, you'll learn to crochet the foundation of the sandwich bag, explore 10 unique fillings, and even discover a variation on crafting a PB&J sandwich. Before diving in, check out the list of materials provided below that you'll need to bring this project to life.

The pattern contains:

  • Uses US crochet terms.
  • Easy-to-follow instructions, with photos for many of the steps. These patterns were tested by 8 incredible pattern testers to make sure every step of the way is easy to follow!
  • A base pattern for the sandwich bag plus numerous fillings including: tomato, lettuce, pickles, olive, onion, bacon, lunch meat, cucumber, cheese, condiments and a PB&J variation.
  • Lots of sewing instructions to make the process easy!

What you will need:

  • Yarn: worsted/aran medium (weight 4) yarn, the fiber of your choosing. You will need anywhere from 3 to 12 colours. I used Loops and Threads Impeccable yarn, and Knit Picks Brava Worsted Yarn for these photos, but I have completed the project using wool and cotton before.
  • 3.5mm and 4 mm crochet hooks.
  • Yarn needle.
  • Polyfill stuffing (or excess yarn strands).
  • Pure Foam Cushion by Loops & Threads. 2 cushion pack, 15" x 17" x 1" (38.1cm x 43.1cm x 2.5cm)
  • Hot glue gun.
  • Scissors.
  • Exacto knife, or rotary cutter.
  • Cutting board.

The last 4 bags were made by some of the amazing pattern testers:
